A big move took place in the summer of 2020 for me – when I located, with my son, to America’s Blue Ridge Mountains near Charlottesville in Virginia. After my 16 years living abroad in London in the United Kingdom, it has been a process of re-patriating and becoming settled in my new home area. The hardest part for me has been getting used to driving everywhere again!
I continue to make as much art as I can here in America – and for that, please do follow me on Instagram at @lisadevaney. I post most of my newest works there. I have mostly been working with Sharpie markers as a medium-of-choice. I draw botanicals with exciting, vibrant colors and enjoy doing stylistic impressions of what I observe. I love depicting nature in my art and find inspiration from the natural world around me. My drawings are done observationally and in freehand.
In the summer of 2020, I also created my own personal Garage Gallery to showcase my lifetime’s collection of artworks! Watch the video of my gallery here:
In addition to my art, I currently work for a nonprofit in Charlottesville – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Blue Ridge – as a Match Support Specialist and I am continuing my work as a public relations and social media consultant with my Hai Media Group.
Busy times as always!
Thank you all for your support!
